Our aluminium curtain wall system offers specifiers enhanced thermal performance to meet the most stringent building regulations and a choice of highly flexible aesthetic options from a single system. You can vary the appearance and still have all the design and construction benefits of one fully integrated aluminium curtain wall system. This approach successfully balances the creative and visual requirements of the architect with the functional needs of the contractors, developments and ultimately the occupants. Lets the natural light into a building through the glazed fascade.
What is a curtain wall?
A curtain wall is an outer wall of aluminium and glazing which keeps the harsh wind and rain out whilst letting the maximum light into the building. The window and weather rating will be calculated based on the location of the building to ensure that even in the most extreme weathers the curtain wall will withstand all that is thrown at it. Wind, snow and in some cases blast load will be calculated to ensure the safety of the installation. The first curtain wall systems utilised steel, however this has now been replaced by aluminium which is light weight and strong. Whilst the curtain wall system allows the light into a building it may also be necessary to consider the effect of the warm sun and the temperature within the building. Solar controlled glass can be used to maintain a constant temperature inside. The aluminium section will also contain a thermal break to ensure there is a limited transfer of cold to the inside.
CMC Aluminium Systems Limited provide energy efficient aluminium curtain wall systems for Chesterfield Derbyshire & Yorkshire and is used in a variety of commercial and domestic situations. It may be a commercial wall feature screen, spanning several floors or a domestic ‘grand design’ style aluminium curtain wall.
With its flexibility shapes or curved screens can be created whilst still allowing other systems to be integrated enabling aluminium doors or aluminium windows to be positioned anywhere within feature walls. The curtain wall structural glazing can be used to span large openings or implement impressive designs in commercial or domestic situations.
You will be ensured of a high quality installation whilst being cost efficient. Our curtain wall system has all the aesthetic, durability and low maintenance qualities of aluminium and combines innovative technology and construction features with advance techniques for quality installation and long-term performance. The curtain wall system is rigorously tested for wind resistance, water tightness and air permeability to BS EN standards.
The aluminium profile has slim constant 52mm sight lines for the mullion and ransoms for visual consistency across a project and give excellent thermal performance to achieve low “U” values.
The grid system is thermally isolated using a thermal break between the pressure plate and mullion or transom. This ensures superior thermal performance in line with the required building regulations.
This system allows the specifier the flexibility to construct sloped roofs, canopies, valleys and pyramids. A minimum slope of 10 degrees for single glazed units and 15 degrees for double glazed units is available.
Sections are available either anodised in accordance with BS1615 1987/BS3987 1974 or powder coated in accordance with BS6496 1984 in a large range of colours with dual colour as an option on a variety of products.
